The IBTS wishes to implement a fully automated system for performing Nucleic Acid Amplification Technology (NAT) testing of IBTS donations in human plasma. The NAT laboratory currently tests approximately 160,000 donations annually. This URS will form part of the Tender process for HIV RNA, HCV RNA and HBV DNA NAT testing of IBTS donations. In addition, the system must perform Individual Donation (ID)-NAT testing for West Nile Virus (WNV) RNA, and should demonstrate evidence for future capability for NAT testing of additional viral markers on the proposed system testing platform e.g. Hepatitis E Virus (HEV) RNA testing.
