Tender 95/2022 - PQQ Forkhill Greenspace Project

The Contract is for the provision of ‘Landscape and Planting Works’ to deliver on elements of a completed ‘Biodiversity & Access Plan’ for the Former Forkhill 3-acre Barracks Site. In September 2022, Council undertook clearance works for this 3-acre site in the centre of Forkhill Village (see attached map in Appendix A) to remove the overgrown Grassland and Shrub threatening to overcome the area, which had presented a significant fire hazard. With the cleared site now revealing ground conditions and topography, the appointed supplier for this landscape and planting works will be required to undertake the following tasks:  Removal and Disposal of existing onsite Waste (Boulders/Concentrate bollards/Spoil/Scrap Metal/Flailed Vegetation)  Landscaping the existing surface to create a Seed-Bed to form an attractive landscape (This is to be flush with surrounding paths, trees and Play-area) which will enable the cutting of the new area using standard industrial amenity/horticultural equipment when the grass grows  The 3-acre area will then be split between 60% conventional amenity grass specification and 40% wildflower specification.  Following germination and prior to first cut, the site to be rolled with a suitable industrial grass roller, to create even compaction and bury minor stones exposed on the surface. Following supplier appointment, all works are to be completed within 12 weeks.
