Introduction:

Ring Farm in Castlecomer Co Kilkenny is an operating poultry farm producing organic chickens on its farm location in Castlecomer. They have been in operation for 12 years producing chickens on contract and direct sale to the restaurant trade.

One of the Agri residues produced is the Chicken Litter (spent peat, straw, and chicken dung). The contents of this are anticipated to be high in organic matter and nutrients and possess high potential to be further processed to produce a bagged organic manure in pellet form.

This high-level project review sets out to assess the viability based on market research and equipment cost of investment to add value to the Agri residue and contribute further the circular economy by offsetting the tonnage of chemical fossil-based fertilisers in the region & thus abate CO2 emissions through reduced demand for traditional fossil fertilisers in horticulture.

You are invited to provide a tender for Lots 1, 2 or 3 or any 2 or all of the lots. Our preference is one contractor for all lots but not an absolute neccesity. 

Please note that all tenders for each lot will be evaluated by the owner and reserves the right to make that decision in line with the Farms best interest in selecting the supplier of each or all lots.
