2240 Presentation Thurles Boiler - Presentation Secondary School Thurles Sports Hall Boiler Upgrade Emergency Works

The Sports Hall Boiler upgrade scope of the works includes the following:- a) De-commission, isolate, drain down, remove and dispose of the redundant oil fired boiler and associated services including the oil storage tank and any remaining heating oil to a licenced waste recycling facility. b) Isolate, drain down, remove and dispose of the defective direct oil fired water heater and associated services c) Isolate, drain down, remove and dispose of the redundant water softener system. d) Convert the heating system fuel supply to LPG as the fuel source, construction of a new bulk LPG gas tank storage compound and connection of the new gas service to the boiler room. e) Supply and installation of new gas fired condensing boilers in cascade arrangement, flue system and gas safety systems. f) Connect the new gas fired condensing boilers to the existing low loss headers and distribution system via new combi air dirt separators. g) Supply and installation of the new indirect hot water cylinder with an integral high recovery multi coil heat exchanger and connect a new constant temperature pump circuit to the spare tap offs available on the existing flow and return headers. h) Flush the heating distribution system and fill with a mixture of water and corrosion inhibitor to prevent future corrosion in the system. i) Complete upgrade alterations to the existing control panel to replace the obsolete Cylon controllers and as required to control and serve the new gas fired boilers and constant temperature DHW Calorifier unit and primary pumps. j) All associated electrical works including isolations, disconnections and strip out and new power and controls cabling run in galvanised steel containment systems to serve the new boiler and DHW Calorifier heating system k) All associated builders work including removal of the boiler and clean out of the boiler room and repainting, removal of the oil tank and demolition of the oil tank support walls and bund walls and reinstate the gras
