CCC/062/19 - Procurement of Event Management Services for Cork City Marathon

Cork City Marathon takes place on the Sunday of the June Bank Holiday Weekend - 31st May in 2020. With a marathon, half marathon and team relay, over 7,500 people take part in one of the largest participatory sporting events in the country. Cork City Council, who organise the marathon, wish to secure event-management services for marathon 2020, with a possible extension of two further years. The successful tenderer will procure, manage and operate all aspects of the 2020 event from the commencement of the contract on behalf of Cork City Council. They will budget for all aspects of the event and cover all expenses, including management fees, from entry fee income and sponsorship. All aspects of the organisation will be the responsibility of the successful tenderer in consultation with and, where agreed, with assistance from Cork City Council. The contract will constitute a service level concession, in that the successful tenderer will be remunerated through income from entry fees and any sponsorship/budget relief secured. In addition, the successful tenderer will be expected to pay Cork City Council for the right to develop the event over an agreed profit level.
