SEA/AA & STRATEGIC FLOOD RISK - PREPARATION OF (I) STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT and APPROPRIATE ASSESSMENT AND (II) STRATEGIC FLOOD RISK ASSESSMENT FOR LAOIS COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2021 - 2027

Tenders are invited from appropriately qualified consultants to carry out the following assessments for the forthcoming Laois County Development Plan 2021 – 2027. The competition is divided into 2 Lots and each Lot will result in a separate contract. Lot 1 (i) A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA). The SEA shall comply with the requirements of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive (2001/42/EC), and the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 (S.I. No. 436 of 2004) as amended, and all associated EU, departmental and EPA Guidelines insofar as they relate to the SEA and best practice in SEA. and (ii) An Appropriate Assessment (AA) to satisfy the requirements of the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC), in particular, for the purposes of satisfying Articles 6(3) and 6(4) of that Directive and Part XAB of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). Lot 2 A Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) to satisfy the requirements of Section 28 of the Flood Risk Managment Guidelines for Planning Authorties (DECLG and OPW, 2009)
