Athenry North Gate - Athenry Northgate Works 2019
The object of this package of works is to continue the repairs of the North Gate at the entrance to the town centre. This ten metre tall tower is a recorded monument, and works will be subject to receipt of grant funding. Works will include – masonry repairs (with limited stone replacement), pinning and pointing, and miscellaneous weathering repairs using lime mortars, roof repairs with flashings, new drainage and internal works. NOTE: The first phase of repair works, mainly masonry repairs, were carried out in the summer of 2018.
