The Contracting Authority proposes awarding a Contract for the Drainage work at Bus Eireann Site in Ballina. At present the current on site stormwater drainage flows off site into the existing public sewer that runs adjacent to the road. With the day to day activities of a typical Bus Eireann Depot oil will inevitable enter the stormwater sewer. There is currently no on site facility to contain/filter any spillage. The Contracting Authority proposes to upgrade the current stormwater system so all surface water run off enters a proposed interceptor before exiting the site into the public sewer. Currently the stormwater sewer and foul sewer exit the site in 4 locations. We intend to decommission two of these sewer connections. The foul sewer to the north east of the site. All existing and proposed stormwater to exit the site to the public sewer through the new proposed interceptor. All existing and proposed foul sewers to exit the site through the existing connection to the north of the Bus Station Building. The contract type be GCCC small works.
