St. Brigids Midleton - St.Brigids Midleton Window Replacement

This tender is for works including the replacement of the existing single-glazed windows, existing doors and associated ironmongery, security and emergency escape controls in the old school building at St. Brigid’s Presentation Primary School in Midleton, Co. Cork. In addition to this a new door opening is required for the old school and the new school required upgrade of doors. The old school was built circa 1978 and consists of a single storey structure comprising 14 mainstream classrooms, a GP Room and other accommodation. The works include the removal of the existing single glazed windows and existing doors. The windows are to be replaced with new aluminium framed thermally broken double glazed units and all of the associated works including disposal of the existing glass, making good around the windows, replacing lead flashings where required, replacing timber widow cill boards, filling of joints in existing concrete cills, application of airtightness tape at all window frame /support structure junctions etc. The doors are to be replaced with new aluminium framed doors incorporating thermally broken double glazing. The replacement windows are to match the existing window sizes and configuration of glazing and framing, including the number, location and operation of opening sections. Window alarm contacts are to be reinstated to the new glazing. Where access control on final exit doors is required the electromagnetic hold close system is to comply with IS EN 13637 2015 & BS 7273 Part 4 2015. Electromagnetic device will deactivate on activation of the automatic fire detection and alarm system or in the event of power failure. The door operation is to be upgraded to include emergency push bar release locks incorporating a lever handle and cylinder, and also magnetic locks tied into the security alarm and the fire alarm.
