Specification: The Social Enterprise Training Programme aims to inform and train people in the community to start, develop and sustain social enterprises that: • have a Traded Income (plus any other streams of funding) • have a Social Impact (with targeting disadvantage and addressing community need as subthemes) • are Not for Profit Objectives of Project The objectives of this project are: • To develop more Social Enterprises and Support existing Social Enterprises to reach their potential. • To support groups to become more self-sustainable by removing dependency. • Address disadvantage, improve quality of life, create employment and increase services within communities. • Have a strategic approach to the area of work. Methodology The project will be delivered through: 1. 2.5 hr workshops x 10 that address the following list of topics which is inclusive but not exhaustive: • Start Up and Structures • Idea Generation and Service Needs Assessment • Business Plan Development • Pricing and Valuing a Service • Grant and Funding Applications • Staff Development and Training Needs • Recruitment Processes • Procurement Processes • Policies and Procedures • Marketing and Sales 2. 40 hours of One to one tailored sessions for individual Social Enterprises who have taken part in the programme facilitating all areas of development from idea generation and needs assessment in potential start-ups to sustainability planning for existing Social Enterprises. 4. Duration of the project The project will run for a period of approximately 12 months, with an estimated start date in May 2019. The project must be concluded within 12 months of commencement. Each of the programmes will be delivered within County Sligo.
