2019 Research Project - To carry out a skills audit to identify the skills requirements of the Retail sector.

The audit must involve interviews and focus groups with a wide selection of the various sub-sectors of the retail industry, adapting action learning methodologies. It must involve engaging with employers, employer representative bodies, Universities, Institutes of Technologies and skills experts. The research questions most focus on analysing the wider impact technology will have on the workplace of the future and where skill gaps are likely to arise. The audit must focus on the current and future skills of the retail sector and identify the training required to satisfy these skill needs for the sector. The audit findings will propose actions and recommendations which will inform Retail Ireland Skillnet when developing new innovative programmes and reviewing the existing programmes. This tender covers the provision of a research project based on the skill needs of the sector. All tenders will be reviewed by Retail Ireland Skillnet Steering Group. A number of factors will be taken into account when considering tender submissions, these include, but are not restricted to the following: 1. Experience within the Retail Industry at Senior Management Level 2. Experience with technology & ecommerce in the retail sector 3. Level 9 qualification in a relevant area 4. Recent (within the last 3 years) experience in research & report writing 5. Provide of the planned research 6. Sample of previous research projects 7. Approach of Brief 8. Standard of Application 9.
