The controlled mechanical removal of Japanese Knotweed plant and rhizome material and the remediation of the soil in a temporary bund in the upper north western sector of the site. To include (non exhaustive): Securing the site during the works, Demolition existing wall to gain access to the NW of the site. Soil Testing and application to the NPWS for a Licence. Removal of redundant ESB and EIR cables/ducting from north section of the site. Disposal off site. Break up and remove paving to north western section of site under footprint of temporary bund area. Form a Bio secure Temporary protected internal haul road and dumper truck turning circles. Construct a circa 1800 cu.m. bio secure raised containment bund with stock fencing around. Protect and isolate from the ground underneath by a proprietary root barrier membrane. Excavate, bio secure separation and bio secure screening of soil, hauled to bund. Any material separated from the knotweed infested soil to be inspected, cleaned, separated, and signed off on, to enable it to be processed into a relevant waste stream (by others). Excavate along boundary: Supply and Fit 50m x 2m vertical root barrier membranes at boundary locations. 5-year Japanese Knotweed monitoring & treatment programme. Certification on completion.
