The development of positive attitudes towards people with disabilities is important to the effective implementation of the Government’s policy to transform existing disability services into supports for independent living in the community. Promoting positive attitudes to disability in the community at all levels and for all ages, is key to achieving inclusion and ensuring people with disabilities can reach their full potential. The National Disability Authority’s (NDA) Disability Awareness Funding Programme for 2018 will support initiatives to promote disability awareness in our primary schools. The NDA now invites tenders for the provision of competition management, event management and public relations services in relation to the promotion of disability awareness in our primary schools.
