SPU CO13-2018 - Important Invertebrate Sites survey of Keelhilla Slieve Carran Nature Reserve and NPWS property at Castlequarter in Ballyogan Lough SAC Co Clare

In summary the services comprise: Invertebrate survey of Keelhilla/Slieve Carran Nature Reserve and NPWS property at Castlequarter in Ballyogan Lough SAC, Co Clare. The surveys to provide baseline data for both properties and to describe the invertebrate assemblage. The sites included in this proposed survey are Keelhilla/Slievecarran Nature reserve and NPWS-owned land at Ballyogan (Irish grid R3790). Ballyogan Lough SAC (Site Code: 000019) is designated for its Cladium Fen. The site is a complex of limestone pavement, scrub woodland, lake and fen situated about 10 km east of Corrofin, Co. Clare. The area of land owned by NPWS is on the south-eastern boundary of the SAC and includes a variety of habitats including fen, limestone pavement, scrub and grassland. This property of c26 ha on the south-eastern edge (see Fig 1) which is managed as a nature reserve. Refer to RfT
