SBIR Graffiti Prevention & Mitigation

Cork City Council is looking for low cost innovative solutions to enhance the cleanliness of our public realm and contribute towards Cork’s ambition as a smart city and which specifically address the challenges associated with graffiti. Graffiti affects all local authority areas and by their nature the majority of the instances of graffiti occur at night or at off peak times which is a challenge in terms of identifying offenders. An additional challenge is that while these activities impact the city centre they tend to occur in less populated areas or areas with lower levels of security and lighting thus making it harder to identify offenders. A successful outcome would enhance the enjoyment and quality of life of all users of Cork’s public realm including residents, tourists, businesses etc when in Cork City. A successful outcome would be a decrease in the incidence and reoccurrence of graffiti tagging in Cork City. Another successful outcome would be the reduction in time and cost of removing graffiti from all types of building surfaces. Any solution should outline how you will demonstrate compliance towards GDPR, in relation to any personal data that is collected or processed, as part of the Challenge and should take into account legislative, security and Health & Safety considerations.
