Child and Family Centre

In 2010 the Dioceses of Limerick, in association with Limerick Social Service Council embarked on a plan to develop a dedicated Child and Family Centre on the Southside Education Campus. Development of these facilities commenced in Summer 2017 and were due for completion and occupation in September 2018. However due to delays in construction this date will not be met and completion and occupation of the facilities is now required at the earliest possible date. The Child and Family Centre comprises the construction of the following facilities: - Construction of a two storey Child and Family Centre, gross floor area 1,053m2 together with associated site development works and car parking. The Centre will incorporate a dedicated Early Years Centre together with accommodation for delivery of health and family support services. - Associated groundwork’s and hard and soft landscaping. Applicants are advised that an e-tenders competition (Ref 110057, 17.10.2016) for the project was previously conducted and that this competition concluded with the appointment of a contractor ( “ The Original Contractor” ) and the publication of a contract award notice. Arising from the liquidation of the Original Contractor the Authority terminated the Original Contractor’s obligation to complete the Works. Work on the project had commenced and the building has been partially completed. It is now intended as part of this new procurement process to appoint a contractor to compete the project. Applicants are advised that in addition to their responsibilities for the new works the successful tenderer will be required to take on full responsibility for all works carried out by the Original Contractor on the project.
