Kilkenny Western Environs Phase 1 Infrastructure

The project entails the construction of road infrastructure to open up and service an area of land identified for development in the Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan (2014) under the Local Infrastructure Housing Activation Fund (LIHAF) scheme. The works include the following: - Site clearance and earthworks - Construction of 1.3km section of the Kilkenny Western Environs Distributor Road to include footpaths and cycle tracks; - Upgrade of 1.3km section of the R695 Kilmanagh Road to include footpaths and cycle tracks; - Construction of 3 No. roundabouts; - Diversion of the Breagagh River; - Construction of 2 No. bridges over the Breagagh River; - Construction of watermains, sewers, gas mains, ESB services and telecoms services - Fencing and other accommodation works; - Provision of road markings and signage - Provision of public lighting and traffic signals. The contractor shall undertake the role of Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage.
