SJH1/18 - Provision of Healthcare Non-Risk Waste Management Services

St James’s Hospital will seek responses from suitably qualified service provider/s that will collect, recycle and or dispose of St James’s Hospital Non Risk Waste. Healthcare Non-Risk Waste (HCNRW) "This is categorised as non-risk waste, which is not hazardous to those who come in contact with it. Its contents are non-infectious, non-radioactive or non- chemical" The following is a non-exhaustive list of the principal types of waste: • Paper & Cardboard • Plastic Bottles & Plastic Packaging & Polystyrene • Aluminium & Tin Cans & Metals • Newspapers • Wood • Food & Bio-waste / Composting for Green Wastes Note: Food Waste must be collected and processed in accordance with S.I. No. 190/2015 - Waste Management (Food Waste) (Amendment) Regulations 2015. • Construction and Demolition Waste • Electrical & Electronics - WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU) Official Title: Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 July 2012 on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
