Operations Department Fingal County Council are developing a new cemetery on a 3.5 Hectare greenfield site at Kellystown in Dublin 15. Kellystown is located approximately 1.5km from Blanchardstown town centre, 1.8km from Blanchardstown Main Street and 9.8km from O’Connell Street, Dublin.

When completed, the proposed cemetery will accommodate approximately 3075 grave plots, 500 memorial plots and 500 columbarium niches for ashes. The subject lands for the cemetery in particular are situated directly to the north of Porterstown Road with area of farmland bordering them to the north and west.

The work involves an extension of the existing east west distributor road, starting at the Luttrelstown school complex entrance; this road will in time service large residential developments planned by others for north and west of this road alignment. This road will include cycle lines, footpaths and landscape strip both sides of carriage way and include all drainage and ducting for infrastructure development, ESB, Gas, water mains, utilities and public lighting.

A new access road with a junction to the main road, to follow site boundary, will also be developed as part of this commission to open up the site. This road will include a footpath and landscaped strip on one side of a 5m wide carriageway and puiblic lighting.

New boundaries including fencing, landscaping and new drainage servicing the cemetery site and access roads are also included in the ccope of this project.
