University of Limerick - The University of Limerick plans to purchase a set of detectors for energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) Analysis and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) to be installed on the FEI Helios G4 CX (FIB-SEM) instrument purchased as part of the Multifunctional Nanometrology Suite (Mensa).
Overview. A set of detectors for energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) is to be installed on a FEI Helios G4 CX (FIB-SEM) instrument. Detectors have to be supplied and installed with all necessary hardware and software for proper integration with FEI software.
This specification describes the minimum technical requirements and acceptable performance standards for both detectors for the analysis of a broad range of materials in support of research within the Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick (UL), Ireland. The EDS and EBSD detectors will be installed by the contractor at the Bernal Institute on the FEI Helios G4 CX instrument. This system will be used by Bernal Institute personnel to analyse the samples provided by research groups from UL and other Universities as well as external industrial customers. The instrument will be placed in a multiple user facility and must provide ease of safe operation to those in the facility.
Suppliers MUST provide all information relating to the instrument and the associated consumables in the blue response boxes below. Responses will be scored accordingly by the Evaluation team as set out in the Award Criteria in the RFT document. Any technical specifications that outperform the requested thresholds will be considered as an advantage. Any included options and attachment that is not requested in the tender will be considered as advantage.
Funding has been provided by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) under the SFI Research Infrastructure Call 2015, with matching funds from the University of Limerick and industry.
