Galway Co Co 2016 REDZ - Request for Tenders for the development of a Capacity Building programme within four Rural Economic Development Zones (REDZ) - Glenamaddy, Carraroe, Galway Rural and Oranmore in County Galway.

The development of a Rural Economic Development Zone (REDZ) Team with key representation from public, private, community & business sectors Develop a list of projects for implementation which are either at an advanced stage of planning or progressed on a modular basis. Furthermore this proposal will look to identify a support pathway for these projects that foster the concept of Rural Economic Development Zones (REDZ) and determine what kind of interventions could be rolled out in a broader context to support the economic development of towns, villages and their rural hinterlands within the defined Zones. Moreover it would be an objective that these projects would demonstrate how economic activity will be generated as well as how employment potential will be harnessed Ensure that any Zone selected, who has an active and current local area plan, has complimentary measures identified which will compliment this statutory plan. Build on previous developmental work already carried out in some of these Zones through the REDZ pilot phase and relevant works undertaken by the Local Authority, community interests and local business interests within the zone. The successful consultant will input into the format of any workshop/consultation and how best to gather the necessary information and will manage, organize and lead any workshop/ consultation organized Agreeing animation and activities (parish bulletins, press releases, social media and email interface) with the Zone teams and the Galway County Council nominated executive(s) Additional requirements include; - Provision of interim as well as a final report to the Zone teams and the Galway County Council nominated executive(s) - Make recommendations on how the knowledge and information base arrived at will be used to progress the work of the Zone teams
