A10/13/423 - Refurbishment of Stable Block for re-use as Exhibition Space and ancillary works

The proposed works are to refurbish the existing Stables, Farm Building and Carpark at Knowth House Farmyard Complex, Knowth, Co. Meath. The Farm Building is single storey and the Stables Building is double height, constructed of stone and brick, with natural slate pitched roofs. Both are Protected Structures. The works will include: Re-use of existing Stables Building and Farm Building for public exhibition space. New insulated polished concrete floor slab in the Stables, with underfloor heating and cast-in floor boxes. Structural enhancement to existing roof structure at Stables Building and Farm Building. New plasterboard ceiling to existing roof timbers in Stables Building and Farm Building. New external doors to the Stables and Farm Buildings. New Mechanical and Electrical elements to both interior and exterior, including lighting and security. Existing carpark to be adjusted to fall to new gulleys, soak away and petrol interceptor. New surface to existing carpark. New fencing, gates and public footpath. New sloped embankment to perimeter of carpark. New soft landscaping, including trees, shrubs, grass. Adjustments to existing gate piers. Contractor to demonstrate previous experience and provide project examples for the following: Refurbishment works to protected structures Specialist concrete floor laying and finishing Civil engineering works to include surface water drainage systems and landscaping as noted above, preparation and laying of finished surfacing in car parks.
