N59 Camcuill Road Investigation Contract

This contract consists of pavement and subgrade investigations of the road carriageway and efficient geotechnical investigation of the ground along the 1.7km section of the N59 National Secondary Road at Camcuill. The proposal therefore relates to determining the geotechnical properties of the ground under the existing road, which is to be rehabilitated in the future, as well as obtaining information on the embankment of the road. The ground investigation will extend over the entire length of the proposed road development. The majority of the site investigation points will be carried out adjacent to the existing road pavement in the road verge and embankment although some trial pits will be required in the road pavement. Trial pits will also be carried out in greenfield locations adjacent to the road on lands owned by 3rd parties. Overall, the works will involve excavation of trial pits in Greefield locations and in the road carriageway, reinstatement of trial pits, DPH dynamic probes, window sampling, laboratory testing and the production of a factual report. The works also include the provision of traffic management on the N59 National Secondary Road and fulfilling the role of PSCS.
