Credit Survey April to Sep 2016 - Department of Finance SME Credit Demand Survey April 2016 to September 2016

The Department of Finance wished to invite tenders for a contract to conduct a survey by telephone of no less than 1500 SMEs to ascertain the following: (i) the demand for credit from SMEs; (ii) the level of knowledge of their rights in relation to credit; (iii) the reasons given for the refusal of credit and (iv) the failure of SMEs to seek credit. The purpose of the survey is to gather data on the demand for credit and related issues by SMES for the period April to September 2016. The survey should ensure that the respondents consist of a reasonable spread of micro, small and medium sized SMEs. It is envisaged that completed responses would be secured from at a minimum 1500 SMEs. The data received should then be broken down under relevant headings and the information compiled in the relevant tabular or graphical format. A narrative should then be constructed based around the results and a full report setting out the survey outcomes should be prepared for submission to the Department of Finance within the timeframe agreed.
