1.Background This is a joint programme supported by three partner organisations: - Scotland Food & Drink - Irish Exporters Association - Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association The aim of this project is to provide a wide range of SME food and drink businesses with skill-sets, marketing assistance and logistical support to successfully do business in main UK markets and other international markets. Within partner areas we will recruit SMEs from the Interreg IVA region, which covers the West coast of Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the border regions of the Republic of Ireland. Key activities of the project will be: i.Creation of six marketing clusters of SMEs focused on different UK and international markets. At the centre of each cluster will be a major distributor/wholesaler or retail multiple (known as Channel Partners or CP). This brief focuses on the the North American market. We aim to recruit 15 SME’s for this market cluster, evenly distributed between the three partners. ii. Within this cluster we will appoint a mentor to provide these SME’s with the local business expertise required to successfully do business in that region and with a specific channel partner (CP). This Tender request is focused on the recruitment of this mentor. 2.Overview of Mentoring Tasks - Source and recruit CP(s) - Provide 15 SMEs the business skills to enable them to do business with the CP(s). Mentors should have experience within Retail, Foodservice, Online Sectors and be capable of mentoring a wide range of Food & Drink SMEs - Facilitate relationship-building between SMEs and CP(s) - Ensure SMEs have requisite market and customer knowledge - Ensure SME’s have business processes required to do business with the CP - Ensure learnings are fed back to Access 6 programme managers (PMs) to enable continuous improvement for the whole programme - Report back to Access 6 PMs on SME/Channel Partner progress within the market.
