The Irish Government is in the process of establishing Irish Water, a new state-owned water company. Irish Water will be responsible for the installation of water meters at households connected to public water supplies. It is likely that the installation works will be undertaken on a regional basis; a process for the establishment of Regional Main Contractors (RMCs) will be run under a separate Notice. It is expected that these RMCs will require large numbers of sub-contractors to supplement their own resources. The purpose of this Qualification System is to establish a panel of subcontractors that the RMCs may choose to draw on to install boundary boxes for the water metering project. This Qualification System will give subcontractors an opportunity to provide information on their capabilities to the RMCs, who may need to supplement their own resources. The selection of subcontractors from this panel will be at the discretion of the RMCs. In order to qualify for the panel the respondents to this notice must meet minimum criteria: Financial, Technical & Professional Ability, Health & Safety, Environment and Resources. Full details of how to apply are contained in the attached Information Memorandum and Prequalification Questionnaire (PQQ). PQQs should be submitted by 12 noon on 30 June 2013.
