Preparation of urban renewal development plan for the Templeshannon area of Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford
Detailed description
Wexford County Council, wishes to invite interested parties/consultants to submit
a tender to prepare an urban renewal development plan for the Templeshannon
area of Enniscorthy.
Key areas of the Plan should include:
• Mission Statement; Goals and Objectives.
• Audit and assessment of current local infrastructure, economy and
community.
• Commentary on the existing buildings and facilities in Templeshannon.
• Assessment of current retail and other development trends and identification
of potential opportunities for the Templeshannon area.
• In developing the plan, the successful bidder will be required to carry out
consultation with the local business community on issues of importance and
potential development opportunities that will improve the area.
• To carry out consultations with Utilities and Statutory Authorities including
Irish Rail.
• From the above, identify and recommend specific key capital projects to
bring about a step-change for the Templeshannon area in terms of urban renewal
and to meet the stated vision of the plan.
• Produce outline sketches/scheme designs for each capital project identified.
• Assess the archaeological and historical context of the Templeshannon area
and consider these aspects in the development of the plan..
• It is expected that the plan will include, but not be limited to, the following
areas:
o Archaeological Heritage and Historical Heritage
o Public Realm infrastructure
o Utilities infrastructure
o Public Lighting Improvements
o Roads, Transport and Traffic Management
o Parking Provision
o Built Heritage Development
o Urban Enterprise Development
o Tourism Development
o Interface with the Flood Defence Scheme and New River Crossing
• Proposals should take into account the impacts of the Enniscorthy Flood
Defence Scheme for the Templeshannon area as outlined in the EIS.
