Hire of Landfill Waste Compactor - East Galway Landfill - Tender for Hire of Landfill Waste Compactor

The following machinery is required under the proposed contract and each item of this machinery should be tendered for. The tenderer should visit the site in order to determine the compatibility and suitability of the plant for the works and environment. 2 No. Landfill purpose built refuse waste compactors, duty & standby, shall both; - be a max. of 8 years old or have less than 8,000 machine hours at the date of tender - be a min. of 48tonnes in weight - be a min. of 525 horsepower - possess compaction wheels of steel type - have dozer blades of a minimum of 4750mm in width - be all wheel drive type with hydraulic differential lock - possess a reversing camera - possess roof mounted rotary flashing beacon, audible reversing alarm and warning horn - possess outside and inside rear mirrors - possess a fully stocked first aid box suitable for up to 3 persons and fire extinguisher. The Contractor will provide; - a competent and suitably qualified driver (who should be named as part of this tender) who will be the primary operator of the compactors for the duration of the contract - a competent and suitably qualified driver, where a back up (i.e. annual leave cover) or replacement driver is required. The evaluation criteria for this driver will be as per this tender. Galway County Council will have final say in the approval - its own diesel (if deliveries of diesel are not direct to the compactors then a fully certified Bowser must be maintained on site - routine and non routine maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer's specification & frequency - compact refuse to density of at least 1tonne per cu.m. Volumetric surveys will be carried out to ensure required compaction rate is achieved - co-operate with all reasonable landfill needs - avoid damage to HDPE liner system and other cell infrastructure - sufficient lighting on the machine for operating in dark conditions - continuous compaction of refuse unless instructed otherwise by Landfill Management staff
