WWSCPMeals2015 - Invitations to tender invited for the provision of School Meals in a Post Primary Gaeltacht School and 2 Primary Schools in County Waterford.

A service providing School Meals under the School Meals Local Projects Scheme funded by the Department of Social Protection. The WWETB School Completion Programme operate this scheme at 2 primary schools in Dungarvan Co. Waterford (total school population 448) and in one Post Primary School in the Waterford Gaeltacht area An Rinn (student population – 128). The tendering process has been divided into 2 Lots – Lot 1 (Post Primary Provision, An Rinn) & Lot 2 (Primary School Meals provision in Dungarvan Town. Delivery locations will be confirmed on award of tender. Communication will be with Key Personnel at each delivery location. The contact details of key personnel will be made available on award of tender. Communication with Key Personnel will be in the first language of the school. Lot 1 – Irish (there is also a requirement to submit bi-lingual Invoices for this school) Lot 2 - English The following are the requirements in relation to the supply of School Lunches/Snacks to these schools: Particular emphasis must be given to waste and minimal use of non-recyclable packaging in keeping with the Green Schools Criteria. Lunches/Snacks are to be delivered according to class grouping. Individual lunches/snacks must be clearly labelled with each student’s name. Container must consider Health & Safety guidelines as they will be handled by two students. Menu options which allow students to change choices on a monthly basis Hot beverages must be delivered in suitable thermal containers. Service Provider must be able to accommodate special dietary requirements. The contractor will be responsible for distributing order sheets and the collation of returns regarding orders. Please note: The School Meals Programme is subject to funding from the Department of Social Protection – should funding be cut then this will impact on the provision of this service. Tenderers are asked to note that should funding for this scheme be withdrawn then the contract will cease.
