15/026 - Sligo and Environs Water Supply Scheme – Foxes Den / Cairns Hill Water Treatment Plants DBO Contract

Irish Water on behalf of Ervia plan to undertake the upgrade of the existing Foxes Den Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and to decommission the existing Cairns Hill WTP together with associated ancillary works as part of the Sligo and Environs Water Supply Scheme – Foxes Den / Cairns Hill Water Treatment Plants DBO Contract. The planned works are necessary to facilitate the efficient supply of water to consumers while also eliminating water quality issues associated with the Cairns Hill WTP. The project will ensure compliance with EU Directives, Irish National Standards and Regulations relating to treated water for human consumption. It is intended that the works will be implemented under a Design, Build and Operate (“DBO”) Contract.
