TCD-15-05 - Organ Building Services

Trinity College Dublin seeks detailed proposals from qualified organ builders wishing to tender for a new 2-manual instrument to occupy the 1684 organ case in the College’s Public Theatre. A distinctive instrument of period character is envisaged that will contribute musical vitality to formal academic ceremonies whilst absolutely respecting the period and original dimensions of the historic casework. The commission will consist of a careful dimensional survey of the existing Lancelot Pease organ case coupled with an inspection of the existing 19th/20th century Organ to determine what parts, if any, of the pipework, including the existing facade pipes, might be incorporated into a new instrument, submission of proposals for a new Organ, and installation and commissioning of the new instrument.
