Provision of Regional Settlement Service for Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath County Council s and H.S.E.

The service seeks to support people out of homelessness by developing proactive strategies for preventing people re-entering the cycle of homelessness through the operation of sustainable responses to homelessness. This shall be provided in light of the resources available through the HSE, DECLG and the Local Authorities and shall embody the current housing policy of Housing First. Main of Objectives of Regional Settlement Service (RSS)/Homelessness Support Service • Prevention of those at risk of homelessness from becoming homeless. • Intervention for those who become homeless to assist them to acquire a sustainable housing tenure. • Sustainment of persons that were formerly homeless who are now houses to maximise the success of their tenure.
