daa currently has a number of passenger search areas in service across its 2 Terminals at Dublin (Terminal 1 and Terminal 2) Airport. These Search areas are an essential component of the Terminal operations at each Airport. As well as being required to be efficient and smooth they must first and foremost comply with both EU and International Compliance Regulations. As a result, daa plc intends to upgrade the existing passenger screening systems between 2015 and 2016 to accommodate enhanced security screening systems in line with current EU Regulations in respects primarily to the EU LAGs (Liquids Aerosols and Gels) and ETD/Security Scanner Regulations, while ensuring that passenger processing throughput is not adversely affected. In parallel, to combat the effects of the new regulations and improve operations efficiencies, daa plc intends to upgrade the existing roller bed tables systems (associated with the passenger x-ray screening equipment) with the integration of new Automatic Tray Return Systems (ATRS) with parallel loading capability, which scope forms the basis of this RFI. More detailed information is available in the RFI document.
