88296 - Online Testing System for Renewal of CSCS/QSCS Cards

Product Required SOLAS Operations Division is responsible for the development of an online theory test system and provision of the testing service, which must interoperate with existing SOLAS IT Systems. Key features shall be the: Service: • scheduling of tests for individual learners upon booking • registration within the system of each Candidate upon their arrival at the Theory Test Centre; • availability of several different types of Theory Test; • presentation and processing of two optional practice questions selected at random from a pool of practice questions, prior to Candidates beginning the actual Theory Test; • provision of an assessment navigator so that learners can easily identify and navigate to unanswered and flagged or marked questions • clear definition of the time limit for the test which will appear onscreen as a countdown timer during the online test. Automatic allocation and management of the time permitted for each Theory Test; • simple navigation through the Theory Test by the Candidate; • simple and effective selection, de-selection and confirmation of answers by the Candidate; • presentation of two optional pilot questions at the end of each question Theory Test and the recording of statistical data on Candidate answers to these questions; • presentation of an optional [on-screen] customer satisfaction survey displayed on the VDU after Candidates have completed the Theory Test and the collection, processing and reporting of data provided by Candidates who complete the survey; • automatic marking of Theory Tests immediately after Candidates have completed the Theory Test; • automatic printing of a Theory Test report for each Candidate outlining general areas of strength and weakness as identified by their performance in the Theory Test just undertaken;
