2014/1028 - Request for Tenders for the Provision of Data Storage and Data Backup Services

Data Storage Solution: The Service wishes to replace the current Data Storage Solution as served by two HP EVA8100 SAN attached, shared storage disk arrays. The new Data Storage Solution must be configured to work in two geographically separate locations; Site A – Production, and Site B - DR. The Service utilises two communication rooms for production functioning as a single logical site, with host servers split between rooms, and high speed network and storage interconnectivity established between rooms. The new storage solution proposed will be located in one of the production communication rooms, and must be capable of providing data resilience and high availability locally, as well as by copying data to a remote site for disaster recovery. The Service wishes to appoint a solutions provider to supply a comprehensive storage solution to include services from commission through to integration with the existing infrastructure and backup solution, migration of existing EVA based data, as well as training and handover of the full solution. All hardware and software required to meet the Data Storage Solution should be listed and include associated costs. Backup Solution: The Data Backup Solution must be configured in two geographically separate locations; Site A – Production, and Site B - DR. The Service utilises two communications rooms for production functioning as a single logical site, with host servers split between rooms, and high speed network and storage interconnectivity established between rooms. Tenderers are free to redesign the current backup solution as they believe appropriate to meet all requirements. The backup solution proposed can be located in any or all of the production communications rooms, but must be capable of providing data resilience and high availability locally, and by way of a remote site for disaster recovery.
