DCU-14109-W - Provision and Operation of Campus Residences for Dublin City University

As part of the University’s strategy, it is envisaged that the number of on campus beds will increase from the current 1,100 to approximately 3,500 beds. This expansion will be completed in phases under the Campus Residences Plan. Phase One of the Campus Residences Plan comprises two main elements: i. The construction of an additional 850 bedrooms, 570 on the DCU Glasnevin Campus and 280 on the current St Patrick’s Campus in Drumcondra. All of the development will take place on DCU property. ii. The buyback of the existing block of 437 bedrooms. DCU wishes to explore all innovative and cost effective options available in the market place to enable DCU to finance Phase One of its Campus Residences Development plan, whilst not restricting the University’s ability to fund the other elements of the DCU Strategic Plan. This document is a “Request for Information” to inform DCU as to the potential approach to be taken in financing and delivery of this project.
