The Contracting Entity is rising to the challenge of climate breakdown and the biodiversity crisis, aiming for net zero carbon by 2040, increasing business and climate resilience, improving natural ecosystems, delivering innovate and leading work through the management of its assets, enhancing economic, social and environmental value. The Contracting Entity’s sustainability framework has set the following key targets: • Net Zero Carbon by 2040; • Halve its energy intensity by 2030, and • Net Positive biodiversity by 2030. Therefore, the Contracting Entity would like to deliver more Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects, including the following Constructed Wetlands technologies in wastewater treatment: 1. Free Water Surface Flow incl.:  Integrated Constructed Wetlands;  Floating Wetlands. 2. Sub-surface Flow, incl.:  Horizontal Flow Wetlands;  Vertical Flow Wetlands, and;  Enhanced Sub-surface Flow Wetlands 3. Hybrid - a combination of the above types and willow. 4. Any proprietary systems, such as Aero-Fac or Phragmifiltre reed bed systems, or equivalent. This Framework will facilitate the design and build of Constructed Wetlands Wastewater Treatment Plants (CW WwTPs) across Ireland, consisting of the following scope: • Construction activities incl. site investigations, groundworks/earthworks, civil, M&E, testing and commissioning works; • PSCS role; • Project management, co-ordination and co-operation with PSDP and Consultant Designer/Employer’s Representative; • Community liaison and communication. It is intended to appoint 2 Contractors for the delivery of these works. The successful Contractors will carry out works predominantly, but not limited to, one of two regions. Refer to the Figure 1 - Regions Map for details of the regions. The Contracting Entity may also instruct the Contractor to provide services and/or works outside of their Region.
