Call for Competition – Supply of New Wagon Fleet (Ref: RFT 223149 - 7928).
This is a call to competition by Iarnród Éireann (IE), for the establishment of a 10 Year, Single Party Framework Agreement for the procurement of “type approved” wagons for up to 400 wagons. (the “Contract”). – RFT 223149 - 7928
Contract Description
IÉ anticipates the initial order will be for approx. 200 wagons including a sub-fleet of up to 30 ore wagons.
IÉ is considering operating new wagon fleets at higher speeds & incorporating more efficient & safer technologies e.g., two pipe air brakes, disc brakes , latch / buckeye couplers with integral buffing capability.
The Contract the subject of this competition is a contract for 96 months with an option to extend by a further 24 months (total of 120 months) at IE’s discretion.
IÉ are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced companies to participate in a 2-Stage process:
- Prequalification (PQQ) Process – to establish companies that have relevant experience/expertise/know-how to be able to meet IÉ’s requirements.
- Invitation to Tender to those companies that qualify from the first stage
Participants must have experience (and be able to provide evidence of EACH TYPE) in the design and supply of infrastructure, intermodal, and ore bogie railway wagons for use in open traffic on high-speed railways at speeds of up to 100-120 kph. It is expected that the winning tenderer will be capable of meeting all of IÉ’s requirements
