Leenaun Village Flood Wall - Flood Defence Works at Leenaun Village, Co Galway

The RFT has ended, you cannot answer the invitation.

Galway County Council are proposing coastal protection works at Leenaun in Co Galway. A low area has been identified at the rear of the Forge property between the main Bridge in the village centre and the next car park to the West. It is proposed to build a sealed flood protection wall across the northern area at the rear of the Forge property to increase the protected level continuously across the sea front of the property. The wall will connect the existing wall at the western car park side to the bridge at the east side, as per drawing 10591-1017 in order to increase the existing ground levels up to the proposed wall height levels as shown in order to close the gap and provide continuity in level across the area and fully close the gap from the car park to the bridge. The proposed works under this contract near the Bridge in the main village centre will consist of the construction of an anchored reinforced concrete flood wall faced with block work on both sides of the wall from base level to ground level. It will be faced with local stone cladding on both sides and concrete capping at the top of the wall above ground level.
