Re: The Construction of a New Single Storey Extension to Existing School Building to Accommodate New WC Facilities at Ballymahon Vocational School, Ballymahon, Co. Longford

On behalf of our client, Longford & Westmeath Education and Training Board, we are pleased to invite you to submit a tender quotation for the Construction of a New Single Storey Extension to Existing School Building to Accommodate New WC Facilities at Ballymahon Vocational School, Ballymahon, Co. Longford.

 The contract for the works will be PW-CF6 Government Short Public Works Contract.

The successful Contractor will produce a current Tax Clearance Certificate and appropriate insurance cover as indicated in preliminaries section of the Pricing Schedule Document prior to signing of a contract. Contractors must also provide confirmation of their ability to obtain a Performance Bond as outlined as part of their tender.

Contractors must return a fully priced Volume C – Works Schedule as well as Volume B -Tender and Schedule and the completed and signed DoES-QW2-Suitability-Assessment-Questionnaire via eTenders Tender Box.

Contractors are requested to contact Mr Michael O’Rourke, Principal of BVS on 090 64 32211, prior to any visit to the site to arrange a suitable time to view the area for the proposed works. Contractors must return a signed and dated Form of Tender and a signed and dated Suitability Assessment Declaration to be deemed a valid tender.

We draw your attention to the following Project-Specific Notes:

  • Note the requirement for the Contractor to provide written evidence that they are in a position to provide a Performance Bond and, in the event of their tender being successful, will be required to execute same in accordance with criteria outlined in Section 3.3h of DoES-QW2 Suitability Assessment Questionnaire and Declaration
  • Item 3.4c List of Services of Similar Nature of the Suitability Assessment Declaration and Appendix 1: Works Proposals required post-tender. The apparently successful Contractor must be in a position to provide evidence of particular, project-specific, relevant experience and expertise as follows:
  • Successful execution of 3 No. public projects of not less than half the average annual Turnover Level Requirement as set out at 3.3a of the SAQ, involving major phased refurbishment, alterations and/or mechanical and electrical refit and upgrade of a live public facility.
  • Evidence must be provided of the Contractor’s chosen specialist Electrical and Mechanical sub-contractors, each having a minimum turnover of €½m per annum for the previous three (3) calendar years, with experience of similar electrical board installations/ changeovers to that intended here.

It is intended that the successful tenderer will commence construction in early mid-April 2022 and complete the works by late July 2022, subject to agreement of the contract programme.

All tender drawings and pricing documents will be uploaded to this RFT and will not be issued in hard copy.
