7706 - Qualification System for Rolling Stock Batteries

Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) have a 5-year requirement to replace the majority of it’s NiCad batteries fitted to its fleet of Rolling Stock. To facilitate this multi-year programme, ( and to facilitate any new type battery that may be needed) IÉ intend to issue a number of tender process via a Qualification System (QS). This QS is a direct outcome of the PIN notice issued to the Market in March 2021 (Ref: 2021/S 046-116543). There are potentially a number of separate ITT processes that will be managed via the QS, with the initial requirement to be issued in January 2022. It is envisaged that IÉ will issue subsequent ITT processes on a fleet by fleet, or multi-fleet basis, over the corresponding 5-year period, depending on business requirements.
