011-03-468 - Operation of the Registered Gas Installer (RGI) and Safe Electric Schemes

This is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) in relation to the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) Gas and Electrical Safety Supervisory Bodies (SSB’s). Please note that this is not a call for competition. The CRU is not seeking tenders at this stage. As part of its legislative function the CRU intends to appoint a Gas Safety Supervisory Body and an Electrical Safety Supervisory Body, within the next 12 months, to support its Safety activities. The SSBs operate the CRU’s statutory regulatory schemes, i.e., the Registered Gas Installer (RGI) (www.rgii.ie), Safe Electric (www.safeelectric.ie), undertaking activities including; registration, certificate validation, complaint management, safety awareness, inspection, and audit of Registered Gas Installers (RGIs) and Registered Electrical Contractors (RECs). The RFT, when published, may be divided into Lots, or offered as one Lot. Please email your details to sean.barry@clearviewgroup.ie to register your interest in participating in a Market Sounding with the CRU. The market sounding will commence later in October. The aim of the “Market Sounding is to: i. Identify potential bidders and/or solutions. ii. Understand the capacity in the market to meet the requirements of the CRU. iii. Inform the design of the procurement process and the contract.” Please do not respond to this notice. It is a Prior Information Notice only. Further information will be published on www.etenders.gov.ie when the tender becomes available. The Annual Estimated Value of this Contract is: €4.25M Per Year.
