Call for Competition – Supply of Pressure Vessels (Ref: RFT 186850-7715 )

1.1           Supply of New Pressure Vessels to the 29000, 8100 and 85XX Fleets

This is a call to competition by IÉ for the procurement of ‘Rolling Stock Pressure Vessels’ (the “Contract”).The rolling stock pressure vessels are required for the purposes of directly replacing equipment currently fitted to a number of EMU and DMU fleets.
All supplied pressure vessels will conform to the requirements of;

o    EN15085 - Certification for Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components.

o   EN286 - Simple unfired pressure vessels designed to contain air or nitrogen. Pressure vessels for general purposes.

The pressure vessels are predominantly used as air reservoirs for a number of different sub-systems (e.g. pneumatic door, brake system, main reservoir, suspension system etc.).
The pressure vessels will be manufactured strictly in accordance with the manufacturers drawings provided.

All pressure vessels will be manufactured and delivered in kits aligned with an agreed production schedule over a term of 36 to 48 months.

Kit 1 – 29000 DMU

Kit 2 – 8100 EMU

Kit 3 – 8500 EMU

Brake Supply Reservoir – Qty 2

Auxiliary Reservoir (LPV Supply) – Qty 8

Door Supply Reservoir – Qty 2

Door Supply Reservoir – Qty 2

Auxiliary Reservoir (Door Supply) – Qty 2

Air Supply Reservoir – Qty 2

Air Supply Reservoir – Qty 2

Auxiliary Reservoir (Door and Toilet Supply) – Qty 2

Main Reservoir – Qty 1

Air Suspension Reservoir – Qty 2

Auxiliary Reservoir (C3W Supply) – Qty 4

 

Pantograph Reservoir – Qty 2

Control Reservoir – Qty 4

There will be a requirement for the supply of 29 Kits.

There will be a requirement for the supply of 38 Kits.

There will be a requirement for the supply of 34 Kits.

 

It is envisaged that a small number of pressure vessels, outside of the above scope, may be required.

All pressure vessels will be delivered to Drogheda Railcar Depot (Kit 1) and Fairview DART Depot (Kit 2 and 3), and will be supplied with certificates on conformance strictly in accordance with the requirements of the detailed technical specification.
