Request for Tender for the provision of consultancy services to carry out a Flood Risk Assessment of land use plans

Kildare County Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced consultants for consultancy services relating to the carrying out a Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) in respect of Local Area Plans both statutory and non-statutory (commencing with the statutory plans for Athy, Naas Kildare Town and Maynooth LAPs). Additional services may be required during the term of this contract related to variations or amendments to adopted local area plans and other projects that may arise such as variations to local area plans, master planning or urban design frameworks. 

 The relevant Plans(s) will require:

1. Screening for Flood Risk Assessment.

2. Full Flood Risk Assessment in accordance with the “Planning System and Flood Risk Management Guidelines for Planning Authorities”, DECLG 2009, where appropriate.

The appointed consultant will be required to work in conjunction with the contracting authority project team (including relevant external consultants or agencies) to ensure that flood risk considerations are integrated into any new land use plan or amended or varied plan, throughout the associated consultation and decision-making process.
