the archaeological impacts of construction of the N59 Derradda to Newport Road Project. The archaeological services required are to be delivered on-site and off-site by the consultant (including their sub-contractors) and include the submission of quality assured reports and archives in accordance with the Services Requirements and to the satisfaction of the relevant statutory authorities. The 5km long Derradda to Newport Road Project forms part of the larger N59 Westport to Mulranny Road Scheme. The N59 Westport to Mulranny Road Scheme involves the development of 21.3 km of national secondary road linking Westport, Newport and Mulranny in Co. Mayo. The N59 Westport to Mulranny Road Scheme was subject to a CPO hearing in April 2012 under the provisions of S.177AE of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) and Application for confirmation of Compulsory Purchase Order under the provisions of S.76 of the Housing Act, 1966 (as amended). An Bord Pleannala approved the planning permission and confirmed the CPO on 2 July 2012. It is anticipated that the following archaeological consultancy services will be required: test excavations and surveys [Stage (i)]; pre-excavation services [Stage (ii)]; archaeological excavation and post-excavation assessment [Stage (iii)]; and post-excavation and dissemination [Stage (iv)]. The project is covered by the provisions of the Code of Practice agreed between Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and the Minister of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs (2017).
