Provision and Operation of Travel Information Systems and Ancillary Systems and Services

The Authority is seeking to engage a suitable party to, in summary: • Provide, Maintain, Support and Future-Proof the National Travel Information System including facilities for: o Continuing an uninterrupted Real-Time Journey Planning service during build and switch over phases from old contract to the new Contract with the Successful Tenderer. Journey Planning services must include Real Time intermodal journey planning including walking and cycling modes. o Off-the-shelf options for customer-facing journey planning products including iOS, Android apps and responsive web. The NTA is obliged under the EU Directive on the Accessibility of Public Sector Websites and Mobile Applications, (EU) 2016/2102, to make their online products compliant with WCAG 2.1 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. o Open and interoperable data exchange protocols between TIS and other systems o ensuring content displayed on Foyer MORTPI display units is complete and correct o A single authoritative database solution to manage the National Public Transport Database • Provide, operate, monitor, administer, support and maintain the Systems for production and as needed for test, staging, training, load and business continuity environments; o Provide data managers to operate the TIS and publishing systems o Ensuring that all information is complete, correct and provided in a timely manner o Ensuring content displayed on Foyer RTPI display units is complete and correct o Provide a scheduling system to support the Authority’s new role in PT contract acquisition and management o Provide a Public Transport Service Registration (PTSR) system for managing the issuance and monitoring of commercial PT operating licenses o Provide a Publishing system for passenger information creating artworks o Harness innovations in travel information technology during the life of the contract which may provide improved services for customers with higher support needs
