7247 - Maintenance of 38kV equipment in Traction Substations
This is a call to competition by Iarnród Éireann-Irish Rail for the procurement of a suitably qualified Electrical Contractor to carry out maintenance of the 38kV equipment in Traction Substations located throughout the IE Rail Network. (the “Contract”). Advertised on OJEU under the reference RFT 150391. The power for the DART is supplied via 13 Substations and 7 switch houses. Location Details are provided in the excel document attached to the RFT notice.
The Maintence element on the 38kV equipment is carried out every 2 years and the work is to be carried out over a 10-12 week period. Works are anticipated to commence in early July 2019 and will be programmed to allow for modification work resulting in 3-4 days outage per cubicle. This outage time would result in a completion date in mid-September 2019. IE will carry out all the necessary switching and outages with the ESB as required. A similar program will be delivered in 2021 between the months of July and September.
All the maintenance can be facilitated during the day between the hours of 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs except for Bray Substation and Greystones incoming 38kV Breaker which must be undertaken at night between the hours of 00:30 and 05:00hrs
It is intended to establish a three year contract for the provision of these services.
