The IEA Certificate of International Trade
The Irish Exporters Association, with the guidance from its member companies, has created a Certificate of International Trade, which aims to help businesses to be successful within the continuously changing and developing international trading environment.
This IEA's Certificate in International Trade will be the only such certificate offered in Ireland and will provide participants with the essential skills and expertise to further their business success overseas.
Focusing on the practical, the objective of the IEA's Certificate in International Trade is to upskill the key people in exporting companies with the essential skills they need to do their jobs.
The initial benefits (Year 1) of our offering will include an early understanding of the core basic concepts in the subjects studied. Key learning outcomes are:
1. An (increased) awareness of how these concepts may affect the student’s own business activity,
2. An increased knowledge of the risks and opportunities arising from this
3. Students will be able to analyse related risks in their organisation and understand the impact and likelihood of unmitigated risk in order to obtain expert help from authorities and other sources as required.
The IEA plan to run this programme at least twice during 2019, in the Dublin region and with approximately 15 students per programme. This may increase or decrease, depending on demand. The first programme will be rolled out in March 2019, with the second scheduled for September 2019.
At advanced level (Year 2) the student will be equipped with more in-depth understanding of the basic concepts and an expansion of knowledge in regulatory, practical and other wider concepts. The student will be able to identify analyse and develop potential solutions on their own initiative and with the expert assistance of authorities.
At academic level (Year 3) the course will offer in-depth analysis and understanding of regulatory, jurisprudence, national, regional and WCO levels of legislation and practice.
This tender is for the provision of services in Year 1. It is envisaged that the curriculum will be delivered over 6 learning days, though classroom and e-learning propositions are welcomed.
All training materials will be presented to students under the sole brand of the IEA or its subsidiaries, all members and clients of the IEA shall remain so. No canvassing of attendees at IEA training courses for consultancy or other business by the training company or its agents is permitted under any circumstances, any requests for such from attendees must be relayed to the IEA, which will then under its sole discretion use its best endeavours to meet these requests.
