Bord Iascaigh Mhara 2018 - Marine Biologist

The RFT has ended, you cannot answer the invitation.

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM) is the state agency tasked with development of the Irish seafood sector. BIM is committed to providing commercially relevant and innovative services to the Irish seafood industry that drive growth opportunities, leading to a thriving Irish seafood industry. BIM share the collective vision for Ireland to become the international leader in high value, differentiated seafood products that satisfy the growing domestic and international demand for healthy, safe, responsibly and sustainably sourced seafood. BIM operates across the four pillars of Skills, Sustainability, Innovation and Competitiveness to achieve the ambitious targets set for the Irish Seafood Sector in the Government’s Food Wise 2025 report. For the past 11 years, BIM has been carrying out inshore surveys using the Board inshore survey vessel, the M.V. T.BURKE. The vessel and crew had been involved in various projects such as seed mussel bed estimation, benthic surveys, archaeological acoustic surveys, invasive species assessments and bivalve stock assessments. In 2019, a new inshore survey vessel will be delivered which will extend the survey range around the coast. In order to optimise the new vessel potential, BIM is now seeking tender for the Provision of a Marine Biologist for the new inshore survey vessel. The services requirement will fall under the governance of a contract. The maximum duration of this contract will be for up to four (4) years and BIM reserve the right to cancel the contract at any point giving one months’ notice.
