Portering duties will include reception cover, waste management, key holding, managing patients belongings, transporting patients, assisting with smooth operation of areas within hospital, maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff at the hospital, knowledge of fire safety procedures, Health & Safety training requirements (manual & patient handling and some janitorial duties). Tenderers must submit with tender details of how staff attendance will be securely recorded and managed. Tenderers must submit with tender details of how complaints verbal or written will be managed. Tenderers must confirm that the vaccination (as requirements listed in Appendix 1 will be fully complied with for all staff and at all times. Tenderers must confirm that a minimum two porters on duty at any time will hold a full C1 or a full D1 driving licence. Connolly Hospital requires that a suitable contract manager be nominated as the initial point of contact for dealing with issues, queries and any complaints that may arise during any contract period; this person should be identified with tender submission. All portering staffs must be checked / vetted by the contractor to ensure that they can effectively communicate in English prior to being employed at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. All portering staff should be familiar with the areas of the hospital campus where they will operate prior to being employed at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. Tenderers must comply with Connolly Hospital’s policies for reporting accidents and near misses. The contractor will employ a site supervisor.
